Getting a copy of your birth certificate ....
Can someone remind me again how to do this ??? I lost my brothers and can't remember how to get another original....Dep't of Health, hospital ???

 Oh no !!!! Thats Brooklyn ! I don't remember doing that for mine when I lost it ( yeah, I lose everything  )

I had to get one from NYC for a client. I thought there would be a lot of red tape but they were very efficient. Good luck!

NYC you can just call --- i did that because i needed a copy of my long for birth certificate for a foregin passport. they were very efficient and i had it in less than 2 weeks. i think i even gave them my creidt card info. over the phone. it was $18.00 if i remember correctly.
if you're ever in Manhattan, the office is downtown, but i forget which street.

You can do it online for the city. I believe it is the Bureau of Vital Records.
My MIL threw out DH and SIL's BCs, so they both had to get one

Looks like we will have to apply through the mail
Online would have worked, but my brother is disabled and does not have any credit cards of his own, and the CC info must be that of the person applying 
I also misplaced his social security card  , so now I need to get one of those too...I'll end up finding both of them after I get them replaced I bet !

I had to get a certified copy of mine. I was born in Queens so I had to go to Worth Street in downtown NYC. i got there before 8am and was in and out in about 20 mins. Not too bad.
