Getting a job in a hospital
it seems so hopeless. Ive tried and tried for more than 6 months now with no calls or emails. I keep checking and have applied for different things from unit clerk to accounting to admissions to custodian. About to graduate CNA and complete phlebotomy in 2months and am continuing my pre-requisites.
...any ideas? Help please.

im in the same boat....it takes soooo long. And the hospitals told me it could take months to even get an interview. It stinks but even knowing someone doesnt really help....where are you doing cna? do they offer job assistance?

It's hard right now. I know we've got a few nurses that came over from a couple of the hospitals that recently closed (and they were out of work for a year, even with 10, 20+ yrs experience)... i'd assume it's just as hard for ancillary staff as they all lost their positions as well 
And, then there's also the problem that sometimes it just takes FOREVER to go through HR b/c they have so many resumes, applications, etc to sort through. Your best bet (just speaking from my experience) is that if you know Anyone who works in a hospital (even if you're just casual acquaintances.... anything) ask them for the name of their manager and just email your resume to Directly to the manager. if they have any open spots, that would speed up the process significantly. Also, if you do rotations on any of the floors- just go right up to the mgr. There are spots out there. Not as many as there were, but they're there... just you have to be a little pushy to get ahead of the others. Good luck!

If anyone is looking for nursing position, my agency is ALWAYS hiring for nurses. It's in home care. We also have offices across LI and in NYC.
They also hire P/T Per Diem.

I would actually go to the hospital and speak to HR in person. Not all jobs are always posted.
You could even be more proactive and go into the hospital and ask to speak to some of the nurse managers.
