Re: GETTING AID FOR BUYING FORECLOSURE??

Suffolk County has a down payment assistance program (anywhere but Town of Babylon and Town of Islip) up to 15K matching. You must meet certain income criteria.

Town of Babylon has two down payment programs one that gives up to 20k and one that gives up to 15K & You must meet certain income criteria.

Not sure about the foreclosure assistance but very interesting. I tried searching Newsday and found nothing.

yea that is the employer sponsored program from what I remember reading. Some jobs do give you down payment assistance as well (my friend who is a nurse gets this) we didn't be we did qualify for the TOB assistance program.

I heard Bank of America is offering $8K for certain areas and a mortgage through them.

Also, there is an FHA loan 203K that allows you to take additional funds in your mortgage to make the house liveable. I don't know enough to help but you a quick Google search I found this link - may be helpful.
