getting an antique dress cleaned?
So my goddaughter/neice is being christened in a month or so and i have my moms christening gown that she and i both wore when we got christened. unfortunately i was a puke-y baby and left it with these horrible stains. my mom never got the gown cleaned after i wore it. I would LOVE for my neice to wear it but i dont just trust any cleaners to try and clean it. Its over 55 years old and its very sentimental...any suggestions on where to take it or what to do to get the stains out???
Thanks so much!

Re: getting an antique dress cleaned?
my god daughter was christenend in her mother's christening dress, it was 30 years old, so we went through the same thing. since i was the god mother, i told her that i would take care of getting the dress cleaned. i brought it my dry cleaners that i always go to and he did a great job at cleaning it. it had stains on it also and he did the best he could on getting them out.
ETA: i did not want to even try to get the stains out myself, i was afraid i would make it worse, so if i were you, i would just leave it to the professionals
