getting an oil fill up and issues right after?
i have dart and swore i was on the automatic delivery plan. we were low, only about 2 gallons left and we called for a delivery for our 258 gallon tank
they come, fill it up
we are out & when we come back, i was doing dishes and there was no hot water!
needless to say, my father came over and fixed it
he said he hit the reset button and he thinks that some of the old oil was grainy and sludge-like and it was mixed with the new oil and caused a bit of a clog
has that ever happened to anyone? the burner, which is underground, is fairly new. next time i won't let it get that low, but i honestly thought we had the auto delivery plan.

yeah they need to be cleaned/serviced once a year do u know how long your last one was? If u are on the automatic plan that should be included but if you are not you have to pay extra for those...

Just happened to me last month. It can happen when the sludge from the bottom of the tank gets into the system. I just made a service call and they came and cleaned it that day. (Our tanks are new...maybe 2 years old at most.)
ETA: Our system is checked & cleaned annually as well. (It might even be bi-annually, but don't quote me on that.)

I turn my burner off when the delivery is coming if we are really low. Wait a couple of hours for everything to settle in the tank & then I turn the switch back on.

This just happened to us too. They said we had let it get too low and a bubble had formed between the new oil.

yeah, my dad said something about changing the filter or something once a year, too.
i had no idea you have to do this - i feel stupid.
DH grew up in city so he never had to deal with house issues, and me, well, i'm just a lost cause.
