Re: getting DD to stay up later..
Can you try getting her to take a late nap? Maybe for a half and hour or so about 5:00?

shes actually been napping lately from 3-5 or so ...i was hoping that would make her go to bed later but she still wants to go to bed at 6. even the other day she woke up at 545 she just ate and wanted to go back to bed

I feel your pain - DS goes to bed at 6:30 and wakes up anywhere between 5am and 6am. It is rough!

My DD does the same thing, i love it though. I have the whole night to get things done before I go to bed.

Re: getting DD to stay up later..
DD wakes in the 6 o'clock hour regardless of what time she goes down. I'm pretty sure I read that most babies have an internal clock that goes off in the 6 o'clock hour.
I wouldn't try to keep your baby up if she's tired, that could result in over exhaustion (for both you and DD) and make it harder to put her down...and she will still wake at 5-6am. Jmo.

Re: getting DD to stay up later..
I would suggest putting DC down EARLIER rather than later.
Keeping a baby up later does not mean they will sleep later in the morning...infact, it may just be the opposite.
I know I've read that in various sleep books.

Re: getting DD to stay up later..
Both of my sons (2 years old and 6 months) go to sleep by 7. With my 2 year old I find the later he goes to sleep the earlier he will wake up. In some ways it stinks b/c they are soo - routine and need to be in bed by that time so staying out later is hardly an option. In other ways I like it b/c i get a lot of things done at night before I go to sleep, or I use it it to just unwind.
