Getting discouraged
This is now our 5th month of TTCing and i guess i'm starting to feel a bit discouraged.
Been doing opk's for the past 3 months and this month i didn't get anywhere with the lines. The past 2 months have been positives, but this month i didn't get anything so i have no idea if i ovulated or not, which just adds to the frustration. I was supposed to O this past week, but nothing showed up on the tests. We've been BD'ing fairly regularly, every other day at when we can but i feel like its just such a crap shoot. I hate this waiting.. I hate that nothing has happened and I don't even know if i'm ovulating or not.
anyway.. just wanted to vent since it's on my mind alot. I'll find out next weekend if AF will show up, and we'll probably start this whole cycle again.

Re: Getting discouraged
I understand your frustration. If it doesn't work for us this cycle I am going to make an appointment with the doctor. I am a teacher, so I thought the summer would be a good time to start testing. When I went to the doctor in the winter, he told me to come see him after TTC for 6 months on our own.

Re: Getting discouraged
Thanks. it is hard, and some days i'm fine and positive. then other days i just get so beat down by it. if nothing happens this month, i think we're going to start BD'ing more and then maybe after 6 months we'll try making an appt. with the dr to see what she says. i am 36 after all..
but thanks for the good wishes

Re: Getting discouraged
I know how you feel. I am my 7th cycle and most probably will start with the RE next month. When I first started TTC I was all gung ho and wrote everything down, every little twinge, tracked everything, was on the intermet researching everything. Now I am totally like whatever. I am in the 2ww now and I don't even really make notice of it. I know it will happen for me and you know it will happen for you. We just have to ride it all out til we get to that ultimate reward!

Re: Getting discouraged
I completely understand where you are coming from. I am going to be 34 in a few weeks. this was our 6th month trying. I guess I am technically still in the 2WW but I have taken 3 tests and all of them were BFN. My LP is usually 11 or 12 days and right now I am going on day 14. Not sure why my period is late but I don't think it's possible that I am pregnant. I am getting so sad and frustrated. Just know that you aren't alone.

I could have written this myself.
It is definitely an emotional rollercoaster but we have no other choice other than to just keep trying right?
I also had crazy cycles and I decided to invest in a CBEFM. OPKs didn't work well for me either but these past two cycles I got an egg on my CBEFM and it has helped put my mind at ease that at least our timing is right.
ETA The CBEFM also helped with the pressure of BDing. We now know that when we BD on non-peak days that it is just for fun and that has helped us feel normal in that way again. We tried the BDing every other day thing and not only was it exhausting but emotionally draining too.

Re: Getting discouraged
I can relate since I have been trying since November 08-we were preparing since August 08. It gets more and more frustrating month after month. Best bet-if you are getting frustrated, call your OB and see what they say. Remember, it can take a normal couple with no issues up to a year to conceive. For us, we had to go the RE route this month, even though we should have gone after month 6-I have an autoimmune issue that needs to be addressed.
If I were you, I would try to keep my head high and call the OB with your concerns-that is what they are there for!
