Getting dried paint off of carpet

Help ladies...my Mom painted the nursery ceiling Wednesday and I just noticed she got blue paint on our brand new very pale sand carpet. There are two spots the size of quarters and my DH is going to flip when he sees them. She used drop clothes so I'm not sure how this happened, but I would like to fix it before he sees them!Chat Icon

Re: Getting dried paint off of carpet

Maybe someone can say if this would damage the carpet...but maybe nail polish remover? I don't want your carpet to be damaged if you try it.

soap and water
hydrogen peroxide
baking soda and a scrub brush

It's latex paint...I'll try the soap and water and see what happens. Wish me luck.

It's a bit deeper than just the top part. Chat Icon

It's VERY hard to get paint, even latex paint, off a carpet because it soaks right in and if you rub it or scrub it it tends to spread it out and make it worse. You can try a little bit of mineral spirits and blot the area first before trying to just scrub it. It may take some of it out. Worse case scenario, when I did this I ended up waiting until it was dry and I literally took scissors and just cute below the paint and got rid of the spot. You would never know I cut it but it got rid of the spot. Good luck!! Chat Icon

Well girls I sucked it up and cut the paint out of the carpet while DH was busy putting the stroller together. You really can't tell thank goodness! Thanks for the advice!Chat Icon

That's what I was going to suggest. I have done it a million times. You can just use a regular razor and shave it off.
