Everything will be fine!! Don't worry.
We don't celebrate Christmas so we are going up to Boston to see my Hindu friend who also doesn't celebrate Christmas. So it will be two jews and an hindu on Christmas.
Sorry that just came out really funny.

Re: getting nervous about christmas.
I'm sure you will do great! Apps and sides are really easy to do. If you don't want to make everything from scratch, you can buy them frozen at Costco or BJ's. Stuff like mini-quiches always go over well

Good luck! I am sure you will do fine. Maybe you can set the table the day before to save time and prepare as much as you can ahead of time.

Re: getting nervous about christmas.
I'm doing Christmas Eve and Christmas. The key is to organize and budget your time. Pour youself a glass of wine, put on a Christmas CD and let the cooking begin!
P.S. Maybe I'm assuming too much (or I'm too Catholic) whatever happened to no meat on Christmas Eve? If my family came over on the Eve and saw anything remotely "meaty" on the table..I seriously think they would stage a walk-out!

Not everyone follows that tradition.
Neither DH or I were raised with that & both of our mothers are Catholic. My mom is Italian, actually & we never even celebrated Christmas Eve!

Ditto - both sides of my family are Catholic and I have never heard of no meat on Christmas Eve, although I did know Italian friends who did the fish dinner for the Eve.
Oh, and Kristen, I am sure everything will trun out great

Re: getting nervous about christmas.
I think it is more of an italian tradition then a Catholic one. Both my husband and I are Catholic and noone does the all fish thing in our families. My mom said when I was little my dad' mom (Sicilian) used to - but it was so much work.

Then I guess its a cultural thing,we're not Italian,Croatian rather. Our local fish market takes Christmas Eve orders way in advance and theres a line out the door,day-of. It could be a little tricky coming up with 8-9 "fish related" recipes but its totally doable. Only real downside.. $$$$$
Happy Cooking to Everyone!!!
