Getting on a flight this afternoon and I'm pretty terrified...UPDATE, I'm back and alive!!!!

I've never really been afraid to fly, even after 9/11....
But with each and every flight my fear seems to be getting worse..
Ihave to fly today to Phoenix for work, no DH and no DS....
I have been dreading this day all weekend, I was hysterical yesterday.
I don't know how I'm gonna leave DS in daycare this morning and not see him until Friday..
my fear is that my plane will explode 5 minutes into the flight and my son will grow up w/out a mommy.....

Thanks Ladies for all the kind words, it was very important for me to go and learn more about my industry, thanks again!!!!!

OMGoodness....do not do that to yourself....Everything will be fine and you will be around to see your DS grow up........I will pray that this week goes nice and fast for you!!

Everything will be ok! I know how you feel. I will be traveling for work again in a few weeks and I am getting nervous too. DD is 5 months old.

Once the flight takes off you should be ok. Remember how many flights take off a day with no problems! Soon you will be back home with your DS.

I have been on so many flights in my life yet over the years I no longer enjoy flying. My fears have increased more and more.

I find that the take-off and landing are the worst now. I just take deep breath and do "relaxation breathing". You just focus on your breathing. It does help a lot.

Just see it as being stuck in traffic. Something that got to be done to go to work.

Oh G... please don't do that to yourself - you'll throw yourself into a panic attack.

I find the worst times are, like the other ladies have said, during takeoff and landing. Once you get past those 2 times... just focus on DS and he will keep you happy!

Before you know it this week will be done, and you will have your little man in your arms again!

It is so normal to feel this way. I actually get like this in the car sometimes. A fear comes over me and I can't breathe. The only thing that consumes me is that he will grow up not knowing me.

You will be soooo fine. Think of how many planes fly everyday! Try to have a nice glass of wine before you get on the plane and just breathe!! You will be there and back before you know it!

Its normal to feel this way. I had numerous flights without DS and DH when he was about 7 months old.

To tell u the truth--those flights were better for me to deal with than the one when DH was on the plane!!!--then I was REALLY nervous

Everything will be OK. I found now that I'm a Mom I make up all these crazy scenarios in my head..you will be OK

Ugh! I felt the same way over the summer when DH and I went away for a few days. I hate that my anxiety seems a little stronger since having DD. Friday will be here before you know it.

I too was never afraid to fly until I had my daughter. It changed everything.
I have to trust that God will bring me back to her safely. There really is nothing else I can do.
We get into our cars, go places...and you really just have to have Faith that you will be home and back with your baby again.
It is VERY hard I know. HUGS

I am beyond petrified to fly and we are flying with Andrew.

I am so nervous that if something happens to him, it is all my fault. I am actually doing a program online called SOAR which hopefully will help me before we go.

I feel a little better, I even made my boss cry this morning I was so upset!

I'm leaving in an hour and a half, hopefully I won't start up again.....
