Gift for dad going through chemo
Sadly, my dad recently started chemo and radiation for a form of throat cancer. There's a chance he may need a feeding tube and is supposed to start drinking smoothies to keep his calories up. We already bought him a single serve ninja blender. Any other ideas of a good gift for him. Want to brighten his spirits and/or give him something functional. TIA!

Netflix/Hulu subscription
My dad has a lot of health issues and I got him a recliner chair cover with his favorite sports team. This could be removed and washed easily.
As far as smoothies, you can get protein powder or something but I don’t think that’s really fun.

Is it esophogeal cancer? My father has that as well- diagnosed last November.  He has a feeding tube (j tube) as well and can barely swallow anything. He's bound to the bed a lot with the feeding tube and is often too fatigued from treatment to do much. We've gotten him some games- like NES Classic edition and a roku so we could hook his TV up with everything- netflix, hulu, Disney+ (he's a big star wars fan). Some things that have come in handy along the way... big fluffy blankets, a wedge pillow or adjustable bed (the feeding tube often causes a reflux that can be mitigated by sleeping at a 30 degree incline). He's starting a new chemo regimen (Folfox) which one of the side effects are extreme sensitivity to cold, so a nice pair of gloves- he even has to wear them to get something from the fridge, sweatshirts (especially zip ones) and henley shirts for easy access to his chemo port during treatments.
I'm sorry your family is going through this, I wouldn't wish it on anyone, but if you ever need to talk, I'm here. 
ETA: A tablet is a great gift as well or a laptop if he's not into the tablets!

What about some comfy slippers, robe, etc for when he's resting and not feeling up to going out?

My dad went through the same thing in March of 2018. By the time he needed the feeding tube, he was cold and tired all the time.
Maybe you can get a weighted blanket, or a heating blanket. And I know it's not fancy but a case of Ensure would really be helpful. My dad had thoughts that he would make healthy smoothies with the blender my brother gave him, but he was too tired toward the end and Ensure was easy enough for him to handle.
I'm sorry you and your family are going through this. :(

Good point, I can definitely see that happening. Ensure is actually a great idea.

Momma2015, I'm sorry your dad has esophageal cancer, my dad was diagnosed with that 5 years ago. It's definitely rough. He had 7 cycles of chemo, 28 days of radiation and then surgery. He lost a lot of weight and he never really gained it back. He feels full very quickly and so eats very little. He's very very thin. Thinking of your dad and family - I hope that your dad handles the treatment well, it takes a toll on them physically, emotionally and mentally.
To the OP: A blender for smoothies is a great idea. Also warm clothes, flannel shirts, thermal undershirts. My dad liked to eat hard candies sometimes bc his mouth got so dry. Warm blankets. Something to make the bed more comfortable.
Also, the cancer center recommended and I read about the healing/soothing properties of Manuka Honey. It can soothe and help heal an irritated throat. My dad would take some every day.

Thank you!! It's scary... I never heard of esophageal cancer until recently and now both my FIL and father have been diagnosed in the past 2 years. My father's cancer is a result of post-9/11 exposure at the WTC site. He's not a candidate for surgery which is bittersweet- I know how rough that surgery is, my FIL had it. Thank you for your prayers, they are truly appreciated. I hope your father is doing well!
