need prayers please - UPDATE: DAD'S CHEMO FINISHED FOR TODAY!
*** The drug went okay the second time. And he is just finishing up now the last drug about 11pm. They started this afternoon, so it's been a really long day... but I am so relieved his body took alll the drugs! Thank you all so much for praying! It helped a lot!
*** they started the "problem" chemo drug at 6:15. It's been an hour and so far no reaction. This is good, but he still has time to go as they are actually administering it at a 3hr rate, so it will be going until 9:15. So, thanks for the prayers and keep 'em coming. It's working!
*** update - no word yet. the nurse decided to give the other two drugs first (there are four chemo drugs total he is getting) and to give him the one he had the reaction to last. So, please keep the prayers going. Thank you so much!!!
*** Dad had a reaction to the second drug again. They stopped it, gave him some drugs and will be restarting it again at an even slower rate around 4:30. Please say prayers that it doesn't happen again!!!
Please say some prayers for my Dad if you can. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer about six weeks ago and is getting his second chemo treatment today. We need prayers for his healing in general, but specifically today that the treatment goes well and that his body accepts all the drugs without reaction.
He had a pretty bad reaction to one of the four drugs he is getting at the first treatment. They had to immediately stop it, give him some drugs and wait a period of time before they would resume. Ultimately, with the drugs and a reduction of the rate at which it was adiministered, he was able to get it. But, his dosage will be increasing today, so we're still quite anxious about it.
