Gift for new baby? Gift card or check?
My friend from high school just had a baby. We used to be close and i want to send her a little something. She is planning on moving soon, so I think $$ would be more appreciated than something she would just have to pack, plus I don't know what she already has. I would send a BRU gift card, but I don't think there is one close to her. Would sending a check seem weird?

If you feel weird sending a check ( I might also) what about an Amazon baby gift card? She can use it for diapers or wipes, or virtually anything really!

This or Gap/Target/Walmart gift cards.

We got a few checks for our baby, but we also got plenty of target/wal mart gift cards too which are nice

There are Targets everywhere. I would send a Target gift card. I would feel weird sending a check!

My friend from college sent me an amazon gift card and it was great. I think something like that or target is super useful and nice

I loved all gifts I got, but truly appreciated the checks so that I could start a savings account for my DD.

I don't think a check is weird at all.
However, At that point, I did appreciate gift cards a little more, because I felt obligated to put any money for her in her savings acct., and the paid out of pocket for the baby needs, which got rough financially, given i was on maternity leave and we only had one income coming in.
