Gift for someone going through Chemo and Radiation?

Hello everyone,

Someone close to me is currently undergoing Chemo and Radiation and I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas for gifts.

I was thinking that I might get him something that could keep him busy or occupied during chemo or radiation sessions and was looking for ideas.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What about a nice pair of comfy pj's and a few DVD's or magazines? I know when my aunt went through chemo, she didn't feel well to go out the first few days following treatments. Maybe these things will help occupy his/her time.

I bought my dad an ipod and filled it with all of his favorite music so that he could listen to something.

Great idea I was going to say IPOD also.

Even a portable DVD player, something to keep their mind off of it.

A friend of mine who was diagnosed with Breast Cancer used to e-mail me the entire time she was there and we would call it "Her Chemo date" Chat Icon I would just have her cracking up the entire time and keeping her mind off of it as much as I could

When one of my friends was going through Chemo we got her an IPOD filled with music, some comfy pajamas, some body lotion because your skin can get very dry from chemo and a bunch of books and magaziines.

i would suggest a new pair of pajamas and maybe a basket with a couple of cd's (you could make your own mixes off the computer), a good book or 2 from borders, a couple of magazines, maybe a sudoku or wordsearch puzzle book, and a couple of dvd's or blockbuster gift card.

Hi... I actually went through chemo 3 years ago. At the time, my co-workers chipped in and bought me an Ipod so that I could listen to music during chemo. I really did enjoy it. A lot of times, people undergo chemo and go about their daily activities (depending on the situation). I would have enjoyed just about any gift... a book, a dinner certificate...etc. I wish your friend well...
