Gift for swimming instructor?
Is this something tht is typically done? My dd has been taking swimming lessons.for 3 weeks and her last day is friday. My mom overheard other moms talking about getting gifts.
What do I do...the thought never crossed my mind

for 3 weeks i wouldn't feel obligated to do anything.
my son went for 6 months and i gave a gift at christmas time.
my kids have gone now for 12 weeks, i love 2 of their teachers, not crazy about the 3rd. i will probably get them $10 to dunkin donuts or starbucks or something.

I agree, 3 weeks is a really short amount of time. I know teachers and dance teachers get gifts but they are with kids Sept-June, some even longer.
I wouldn't feel obligated after only 3 weeks unless you (or your child) had that much of a connection with the teacher.

For 3 weeks? I wouldn't feel obligated to buy anything. (And I was a former instructor for 15 years.) I did enjoy homemade cards and artwork from some of the kids that I taught for short periods of time. Maybe you could do that.

for 3 weeks I think a nice thank you note would be appropriate. i never gave gifts to gymboree, stroller strides, saf t swim, etc. I give gifts to teachers and tips to camp counselors.

for 3 weeks i would not feel obligated but if u really enjoyed the instructor i think a gift would be great and a gift card is always a good choice
