gift ideas - 2 and a half year old niece
Going to my brother's for Thanksgiving and want to bring something for my niece (b/c I like to spoil her!)
She's going to be a big sister in February, so I want to get her something since I'll be getting something for the baby.
Any thoughts? I'd like to spend around $50. Preferably less, but maybe a little more for something really cute. I'd like it to be something she's excited about, so not clothes, etc.

My dd is 2.5. Loves stickers so I'm getting her Colorforms for christmas so she can play with them over and over and they won't ruin my furniture.
She loves her doll stroller.
Books and puzzles.
She just started getting into board games. We play Memory with about 4 pairs otherwise it's too confusing for her.
Builidng blocks.
Mr. Potatohead.

Re: gift ideas - 2 and a half year old niece
My neice is going to be 3 next month and she is really into dressing up. Anything that makes her look like a princess...she is all over it! I usually like to get her things like a tiara and dress up clothes. Other than that she likes coloring, stickers and she just started getting into beading necklaces. The big wooden beads though...not the little crystal ones that might be more suited for older kids.

Re: gift ideas - 2 and a half year old niece
My DD just turned 2 so I'll tell you what she likes.
wooden puzzles dolls/accessories (but you may want to check with her mom to see if she already has too many dolls already, it's a popular gift for little girls) Little People sets play doctor's kit (there are a few that are especially for toddlers) chalk/crayons/washable markers and something to draw on (or as a neater alternative, a MagnaDoodle) Pretty much anything that she can use to mimic mommy and daddy (play food, etc)
also books are always a good choice
The only thing I would steer clear of are toys that need batteries and/or make loud noises.

I don't think so, I never even thought of My Little Pony, I used to love those! If there are no small parts it should be fine (even if there are it should be fine, it's usually 3 and up for small parts so she'll be there soon). Animals are a big hit at this age so that may be a good idea!

I LOVE My Little Ponies -- and I fully admit to trying to get the little girl hooked on horses at an early age!
