gifts you receive before the shower?
i got home today and there is a non-registry gift for  sent to me from my aunt. im not sure if she is coming to my shower or not - she doesnt live too far although we aren't super close. the gift came wrapped. do i open it now or do i bring it to the shower and open it there??

For my bridal shower I opened up gifts sent to the house before the shower. I would do the same for a baby shower too.

For people that I knew that were coming to the shower I waited, for those that were not coming I opened it and left it at my apartment. My mom asked me to bring the gifts to the house, she felt like people would want to see me open their gifts, haha.

I waited on wrapped gifts since we had a small shower anyway.
If you decide to open it early, send a thank you right away. Otherwise, you can wait until after your shower to send a TY.

oh wow i didnt even think about thank yous!! the shower isnt til may 15th!! so far i left it wrapped. for my bridal i opened everything right away but i feel like the gifts are for the baby not for me so i feel like its somehow different, even though i know how ridiculous that is

So here's a solution .. wait till the baby is 3yrs old and can open it on their own!

If you see her @ the shower, I'd acknowledge the gift again
