girl scout camp in suffolk (back in the 80's)
does anyone remember going to a girl scout camp in the northport area, right off of Bread and Cheese?
do you remember the exact location and is it still there?

Are you thinking of Fort Solanga Day camp? That is right off bread & cheese, but I don't think it was a girl scout camp.

Maybe, I'm just not sure.
I went to this place once with my sister, though it might be girl scouts related but maybe not.
I feel like it was halloween time and they took us to an abandoned house and i was terrified.

Totally just had a flashback, but did they also make you walk down a dark hill with no lights and then chew spearamint lifesavers that would spark when you chewed them....such a strange memory of a girl scout experience I had. Lol

Haaaaaa this brought back memories!!! I went to Camp Edie in the very early '90's. By the way, its the wintergreen ones that spark. ;) Had to prove that to a coworker only a few weeks ago. She thought I was out of my mind...until I turned off the bathroom light to prove her wrong! Heeheehee...

Haa they did that for us too! We also dressed up one of the campers like a boy and tricked the counselors into thinking we snuck her brother in! They were so pizzed lol!

I lived not to far from that place. It wasnt a girl scout camp but I do remeber it being kinda run down. We used to hang out back there when the camp wasnt open.

It was at Caumsett State Park. It was part of the SCOPE program and a lot of troops would go there for field trips.
