Girls in the 3rd Trimester or Late 2nd trimester?? Movement question

I am at the start of 27 weeks. I feel some noticeable movement daily but not very often. Mostly at nice when laying down and just a little during the day..( but rarely).

Should I be feeling consistent movement yet??? When do Dr's recommend you start counting movement??

I do have an anterior placenta, but would that still limit the amount of movement felt??

I will be 27w on Monday. I also have anterior placenta. My baby moves a few times throughout the day, but after dinner it is almost non stop until I go to sleep. I feel it once or twice while I am getting ready for work and usually after I eat lunch

I think I told you this, but I felt like i wasn't feeling "enough" movement the whole pregnancy. My doctor never advised counting kicks. Instead, he told me to break my day up in to 4 hour intervals (so if you wake at 6, it would be 6-10, 10-2, etc). All he said was that I should feel some movement in each 4 hour window. I think he told me this at about 29 weeks or so.

And of course, every baby is different. At one point, a friend of mine told me she counted like 50 kicks in a hour, and I was like, "I don't think my kid kicks that many times in a DAY!" Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

And some days they're more active than others. There are times when I can feel her all day, and others where I only feel her every few hours.

yuppers! there are times my LO is crazy during the day, and times he is mellow during the day... my LO has been pretty consistant at being active at night but his activness varies day to day during the day

movements are still sporatic at 27w so i wouldnt worry too much about it... my OB said that 33+ weeks is when you need to really start paying attention to movement

I'm 2 weeks behind you and I was wondering the same thing today. On Monday, I probably felt her for 4 hours straight in the evening!!! But in the past three days, I've just felt her here and there and not nearly as much. I was starting to get worried today so I pushed around a little and got a little push back (I was thinking of CaidensMom's post about her boys jiggling her belly, actually, lol)... I don't have anterior placenta but my doctor said give it another 4 weeks and I'll be feeling her much much stronger. So I figure closer to 28-29 weeks, which is still another week for you.

I'm glad you posted this though. It's a little scary when you just don't know what's going on in there!!!

I'm 26 wks and in general, I think I have a very active LO, but it definitely can vary day to day. This wknd my LO was quiet. I was laying down on sat saying, "ok, please kick now." But today, for example, there's apparently a party in my uterus. My co-worker actually saw my stomach move when I was standing next to her. I'm not sure when, if ever, the movement will be consistent.

I know that I'm not as far along with you, but I definitely feel our LO more when I'm laying down...sitting at work all day it's a little tougher...
