Girls that were on Metformin...

Did you continue it throughout your pregnancy or did you stop at some point?

I am going to ask on Wednesday when I go for my bloodwork but those three pills are KILLING me to take. I seriously gag at the smell of them and if there is no reason to take them anymore Id really rather stop.

Anyone know any info or reason to remain on it?

UGH, I know what you mean about the smell...it KILLS me!!!!!

My RE told me to remain on it, because she feels that it probably helped me get pregnant in the first place, and to avoid the risk of gestational diabetes. Are you IR? I think that'll be a big deciding factor.

I stopped the Metformin as soon as they heard the HB which for me was at 7w5d.

My endocrinologist wanted me to stop taking them as soon as I found out I was PG. Although he did say they were still safe during the first trimester.

I was on them until maybe 10 weeks also. Let me tell you the smell is horrendus. I would have DH get them out of the packet for me. I still gag when I think of the smell. I started with 2x a day, then 1x a day, then 2x again, then 1 day on 2 days off until my progesterone kicked in when the placenta took over.

I stop the metformin at 11 wks.
