girls w/book well for shower....
did you also have a regular wishing well? we're putting in the invitation a poem for people to give us books instead of cards but didn't know if it was greedy to do a well also. and if that has to be stated on the invitation

For my sister's shower we said ...in lieu of a Wishing Well gift, please bring a copy of your favorite bedtime/childhood story for Heather to share with her little one...
Some people still attached little things to gifts but boy what a library her kids have!!

No I had a book wishing well only. I wouldn't have a second wishing well - it is totally unnecessary and a bit much.

No one seemed to mind and I got a lot of little useful things in the regular WW.
I went to a shower where they did a book wishing well. I also bought a regular WW gift. A lot of other people did the same, so we had to throw together something to put the WW gifts in.

OK, stupid question but...
I'm planning on putting one of those poems in my invites asking for books instead of cards....
but what exactly is a "wishing well"? and is it something I need to build or buy? Is it a well that everyone puts their books into? >>>>>Please don't make fun of me, I have no idea!?!?!

My work shower is going to have a book well...how perfect, because who better to buy you books than fellow teachers! My main shower I figure will be a regular one (I haven't heard plans of a book well at all).
