girls who are a bit thicker or curvier... what do you wear in the spring/summer...
so you don't feel like a lard-azz? i consider myself chunky and lumpy. i HATE how i look in shorts so i don't wear them. i usually wear capris or skirts that are around knee-length. i get tired of the same ol' thing and have a hard time finding clothes that make me feel good, in a world full of stick thin girls. i am DREADING the warm weather for this reason. so girls who are shaped similar to me, what kinds of things do you wear and where do you shop?

I try to accentuate the positive. I don't wear shorts that are too short or low. I try to wear summer dresses that have a halter top and go to my knee. The halter top keeps the girls in and knee length skirts and dresses that taper down instead of flaring out are more flattering. Skirts are actually more flattering than summer pants and shorts. I get a lot of ideas from the J.Jill catalog.
I try to keep my skin, hair and nails looking groomed and healthy..drink lots of water and get regular hair cuts.
I feel thick and lumpy too but these things help me feel more confident and sexy.

i NEVER wear shorts anymore, unless i am on vacation and know that i won't see anyone that i know
in the summer i usually wear capri's. sometimes even jeans, i dont care how hot it is, i'll still wear jeans. i have 2 denim skirts that i feel somwhat comfortable in so i'll wear them sometimes. i just started back on weight watchers so hopefully this will be a better summer for me

I don't wear shorts either.
I am also on the thicker/curvier side and I have to say that I wear a-line skirts, capris and simple sundresses with cardigans.

I've gotten nice capris and longer skirts in Target and walmart....but I'm poor thats why I shop there
I used to like old navy but they've gotten very trendy...and H&M is hit or miss.
I like NY&co and found some cute outfits for my honeymoon in the summertime 05

i found a really cute skirt at h&m last summer... it was about knee length, a-line, and it was drawstring. it was like 15 bucks, so i got 3 different colors. very flattering and i just wore them with a plain white short sleeve shirt and flip flips.

Re: girls who are a bit thicker or curvier... what do you wear in the spring/summer...
Even though I'm not heavy (normally - lets see what happens after this pregnancy) I have thick thighs and legs - but I rarely wear shorts - I love capris that flare a little - I think they are much more flattering to even thinner legs.... I also bought a pair of denim cut off capris from Abercrombie last summer that were a little low rise and I just thought they were so flattering...
I like my upper body a lot - work out those arms, they build muscle very quickly in the biceps, then you can wear some cute tanks and nice slim-cut short sleeve tops... I am due in April and have no idea what my body is going to look like by the summer, but I will hazard to guess that this wont be the most fit-looking I've been, so I'm just going to stick with capris and buy some cute sheer blouses for wirk that I can wear over spaghetti strap tanks for work, and some cute short sleeve tops for casual....

unfortunately, when i work out my arms - they just get bulky. no matter what i do. i inherited the thick arm gene from my mother i've tried everything - i had a personal trainer, went through 6 months of the academy... i'm better off not working them out at all and pray they get a bit slimmer from the elliptical arm motions. my arms look chunky - and they are, but there's a lot of muscle in there.
