Girls who are "childless" while pregnant (awaiting their first born)
are you guys doing anything special while it is still just the two of you? any special date nights or vacations planned?
tomorrow night we have tickets to the Opening night to a show at the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival (cannot wait!!!)
we are driving to Boston at the end of the month to see a soccer game.
we have tickets to the semifinals at the US Open
we have tickets to see U2 at the end of September (provided I am still pregnant, of course...I'll be 38 weeks at that concert )
other than that, we've been taking long drives in our 2 seater Beamer that probably won't see as much action from us in the coming months.
we've gone antiquing, fruit picking (which we will continue to do all summer long)
I am trying to plan a nice little hike/picnic at one of the parks near us (that I can manage successfully 6 plus months preggo) and maybe a trip or 2 to a few Lake beaches in the area.
obviously, all of these things can and will be done once the baby arrives (albeit not in the Z3 ) but I think we've both been trying to enjoy our last weeks/months/days as the twosome we have been for almost 15 years.
as much as I am looking forward to life with Newton...I want my husband all to myself for a while still too.
anyone else?
eta: I forgot about our trip to Italy in May. *lesigh* that was nice. and also our trip to see my brother this past weekend in PA...8 hours, but worth it for my little Emmalicious

Re: Girls who are "childless" while pregnant (awaiting their first born)
We went to SO many concerts last summer. We went on a big vacation (albeit, it was BEFORE I got pregnant). We did nice dinners in the city. We did have some nice things planned late summer last year, but I broke my foot and was laid up in bed for 2.5 weeks! We tended to keep to ourselves more whereas prior to the pregnancy we always went out with friends. We still did that, but not as often.
The final weeks though, I wanted it to be all about DH and I.

DH & I have been spending more quality time on the weekends doing outside things.
We also have a sports car that the baby will not be in until he is out of a seat, so we are taking drives in that.
We have been seeing a lot more movies now & going just the two of us.
No big vacations or anything planned since I am 8 weeks away, but it is nice to just be spending time together

Re: Girls who are "childless" while pregnant (awaiting their first born)
I'm so glad you posted this because I've felt the same way--over the moon excited about parenthood and the next stage of our life, yet at the same time wanting to soak up every moment that I have alone with DH. DH and I have been taking advantage of our last few months of it being just the two of us. We went on vacation in April to Florida, a Yankee game in May, saw Waiting for Godot this past weekend, we've been going out to dinner once a week--nothing fancy or expensive, just because we can. We're going up to Vermont the first week in August.

Re: Girls who are "childless" while pregnant (awaiting their first born)
Sadly we haven't been able to since I've been on bedrest most of this pregnancy...but when I get off, if BabyMack hasn't arrived yet we are going to do a few things together just to enjoy one another's company for the last few weeks. On the upside, I have to say the bedrest has brought us much closer together - I've seen how much he is willing to do for this baby, he has a whole new respect for what I am capable of and these long nights stuck in the house have created many wonderful conversations!

We went on safari to Africa in April - that was our most extravagant "childless" thing to do!
In the meantime, we've been going to restaurants that we've wanted to go to and having a few date nights.

We dont have too much planned, we're going to a Yankee game in 2 weeks, we're gonna see Rock of Ages in Sept and we've been going out to dinner almost every weekend and just spending time with eachother. We're also supposed to go to Florida in Aug but thats with my family too so I dont know if that counts.

Re: Girls who are "childless" while pregnant (awaiting their first born)
DH and I are trying to get all the quality time together we can but being on one income puts a damper on that sometimes. We used our anniversary (May 25th) and took a little babymoon to the white moutains up in NH, which was nice and spent the weekend camping. I am hoping this month we can get a couple date nights in before comes because i know once she comes, we won't have alot of time.

Re: Girls who are "childless" while pregnant (awaiting their first born)
DH and I are planning on taking a trip to Maine sometime in August so I'm really looking forward to that.
I also feel like we've been spending a lot of quality time together, just talking nice long walks or drives. We also have been going out to dinner more often and just really trying to enjoy our alone time together.
I'm still convincing him that we should take a quick trip back to Europe before this little one makes an appearance...we'll see how that goes

i'm soo jealous! that concert was scheduled for my due date! I wanted tickets soo bad but thought it was probably a bad purchase.
We don't have anything big planned. We have just been enjoying our weekends and the weather. It's funny, this past weekend we were relaxing around the pool and we were discussing how this is our last selfish summer. Dh said how he's sorta sad because we have had such fun but excited for the new chapter of our lives.

Nothing extravagant like trips or anything. We have been spending alot of time at home, just the two of us. It makes me so happy to do that. I love just laying in bed at night together, watching a movie and eating italian ices.

I'm jealous ladies - so far, my vacations during this pregnancy were Disney and I've got Sesame Place later this summer. Wild and crazy
I do plan to have ILs take DS for the night before #2 comes so DH and I can be alone - the quiet before the storm

no big trips because were trying to move soon. but we did take a little trip to hershey park a few months back and we've tried to go out to dinner once a week (its our guilty pleasure) since we know once the baby comes we cant indulge that often! and just kind of enjoying the nice peace and quite!

Re: Girls who are "childless" while pregnant (awaiting their first born)
We did SO much in the 9 months before Brandon was born. We took a trip to Las Vegas, visited family and friends in NY, and took a long trip to London. We went to movies, concerts, theater shows, everything we could possibly squeeze into our free time.

We haven't done too much. I was so tired during my first trimester and then we had friends in town (with their 3 1/2 year old) and DH has been working a lot on weekends.

Re: Girls who are "childless" while pregnant (awaiting their first born)
With 8 weeks go to, I can't think of anything we are specifically doing "before baby comes". We're just doing what we've always done.
We've went to Florida for a week back in March and to Boston for a long weekend at the end of May. We went to a few concerts in the last month or so, and have made extra effort to see our friends.
We did however plan to be pregnant this year, so last year we took a ton of trips and vacations pre-pregnancy. I'm so glad we did that.
