girls with heartburn - do you have problems drinking water?
okay, my heartburn is coming back with a vengeance at 30-31 weeks, and i am finding that water makes it SO bad!!
but i am SO thirsty, and because i can't drink water i feel very dehydrated.
a lot of other drinks are very acidic, like gatorade, so those kind of aggravate the heartburn too. and i don't feel like drinking milk all the time...
any ideas?

Funny you posted this, I have found that i am drinking less water bc of this. I drink lots and lots of milk and that helps alot!
ETA: sorry I just re-read and saw that you don't want to drink milk - maybe Ginger Ale or Sprite...I find that they don't really bother my stomach at all.

Re: girls with heartburn - do you have problems drinking water?
I have had bad heartburn and am in my first trimester. Milk makes it worst. My mom told me to try haveing a small glass of buttermilk. I tried it and it actually soothes the heartburn - I guess something in the enzymes helps. Ginger Ale helps me also.

Re: girls with heartburn - do you have problems drinking water?
Try Vitamin water. I had to stop drinking O.J because it was to acidic for me and I would get HB just from drinking that.
When I take my iron pill I take with 1/2 a bottle of vitamin water. They have so many flavors to choose from just be careful of the pottasium one I think its called Revive. I mean if your constipated I wouldn't drink that one.
Edit: who sorry I read your post again forget my vitamin water post. I never had any problems with water. Sorry

my hb was so bad that i wasnt even eatong dinner because when i lay down it was miserable. I drink milk...its not actually the water but the acid in your stomach overflows once you fill it wit water...i take zantac and it helps a lot, ask your dr if you can take it...

Re: girls with heartburn - do you have problems drinking water?
I don't seem to have too much trouble with drinking water, but I think sometimes I drink too much (esp. in this heat) and it is because I am too full that the hb acts up.
I mostly drink milk, water, seltzer, and ginger ale. I occasionally drink vitamin water and homemade decaf iced tea. Sometimes I drink a chocolate milk if I am really getting bored. The juices just seem to aggrevate it.

I think that once I get the water down, I feel better.

I notice it only gets really bad if I have nothing else in my stomach. Make sure you are eating small snacks and then the water shouldn't bother it. HTH.
