Girls with thick long hair...

What shampoo and conditioner do you use that keeps your hair soft and easy to brush? I've been experimenting lately and can't find one that really works well.......

I dye my hair dark brown (from blonde) and use Pantene for color treated hair, it is the new one for Chesnut hair color. It is the only thing that keeps it tame. I have tried everything and this is by far the cheapest.

Re: Girls with thick long hair...

The key for me isn't shampoo/conditioner, but the product(s) I use afterwards. I've been using Sebastian Potion 9 for years now - it's the only product I've remained faithful to for that long - it makes my hair much more soft and manageable.

Re: Girls with thick long hair...

Pantene...

I alternate that with some cheapy shampoo that works well. It's coconut scented...

Re: Girls with thick long hair...

I have very thick hair that is fairly long. I use Pantene or Herbal Essence. But what I find makes my hair most manageable (especially when it is long) is to comb (with a very wide tooth comb) the conditioner through my hair while I am in the shower. That way, when I get out, my hair is knot free, not frizzy, and I really just need to put product in it.

I have ALOT of hair. Long and thick. I use Pantene for curly hair. I find its just the right amount of conditioning. Its not too heavy that it ways it down and not to light that it gets dry.

Re: Girls with thick long hair...

my hair used to be long but I donated 11 inches this past saturday (yippy skippy). I do have thick curly hair. I find Pantene for either curly or color treated hair is fantastic!!! I'm a big Pantene fan. I actually bought it at my Bed, Bath & Beyond with a coupon I had. My Bed, Bath & Beyond (in Bohemia) has a health section. So with the 20% off, I paid $3 a bottle. I stocked up!!

Re: Girls with thick long hair...

Also, I have used Fructis by Garnier- they have a shampoo and conditioner for long hair. It is great also.

Re: Girls with thick long hair...

Lately it is Back to Basics Coconut Mango Shampoo and Conditioner (separate bottles). Then I use a thick leave in conditioner from Lanza's Urban Elements line. I also just tried a spray in detangler from some Sexy Hair line that they sell at Ulta. My leave in conditioner used to be Saturation from Brocato, but that is becoming hard find (I was so loyal to it when I could get it!). My hair is very long and has been even longer. It is probably average thickness.

I'll take a look at some of the other suggestions on here now!

I love Dove shampoo/conditioner. For an inexpensive brand my hair always looks great and it doesn't dry it out.
