Giving baby water
At what age did you/can you start giving your baby water in a bottle? DD will be 5 months this week and the past few days with the weather being so nice there are times I think she is just thirsty and not hungry. Is it too soon to give her some water in a bottle? I really have no idea....I will ask her doc and do some research, but thought I'd ask you ladies as well.
TIA!

Re: Giving baby water
I spoke with DDs ped. DD is 5 mths and a big eater, large baby.
So her ped said in her case, since she isn't worried about DD not wanting to eat if drinking too much water, I could give her about 3 oz a day if she wants it. Somedays I do, some I don't. DD lloves it.
But each case is diff, check with her ped.

Re: Giving baby water
My baby is six months and I give him a little water here and there. Usually an ounce or two. I would think that with this weather, a little water for your 5 month old is fine.

Re: Giving baby water
At about 6 months I began with offering water during meals, but in an open cup b/c DD wanted to use one.

Re: Giving baby water
My ped had told us that small amounts of water were okay starting around 3 months actually. We didn't really start though with water until around 5 months. DD really enjoys taking little cool sips of water.
