Giving Two Weeks Notice?

I NEED to give my boss 2 weeks notice today to avoid delaying my start date at my new job. Trouble is, I just found out that she's home today, waiting for a couch to be delivered and knowing her, she won't come in afterwards. Do I call her at home to tell her? Email her? Something else??? Help!

ETA: What time do you think I should give her until to come in? I want to make sure I have plenty of time to reach her if I get voicemail the first time around. I cannot have this hanging over me all weekend...

ETA AGAIN: I did it! Whew! Over the phone. Actually worked well b/c I had notes in front of me and was able to make sure all of my points were made. She was shocked, but understood. Glad that's over with!

I would email her and ask if she has time during the day to please call you back, as you need to tell her something of importance. I personally wouldnt give notice thru email.

I agree - it has to be either in person or over the phone.

Re: Giving Two Weeks Notice?

I gave my boss my 2 weeks notice over the phone and then an email followup
She was home as well, and I was not going to move my startdate back. Call her cell and her home. Its not like she is home ill or on vacation

No worries
