Glass dining table, microfiber chairs... what do I do?

I'm just realizing my home is SOOOOOOO not ready for a baby!!!

My coffee table - square glass
My dining room table - Recantular glass
My dining room table chairs - soft, cushiony microfiber.

How is the baby going to be able to SIT at the dining room table with us? I'm assuming we can't put a hook on/clamp on chair to the glass and a booster seat will be wobbly on our cushiony chairs!!

Any advice? Do we have to buy new furniture??

I have no intentions of baby proofing my house (other than significant safety hazards). I plan on house breaking my kid. I may be delusional in thinking that but I'm going to try. So I would say no don't buy new furniture - unless you just want an excuse to buy new furniture. Chat Icon

I would not get new furniture, but get a highchair that stands on its own so you don't need to hook it to a table or a chair.

you can get corner bumpers for the tables... and they also sell the wrap around pieces for the tables as well so all the edges are covered.

as far as baby sitting at the table goes. I'd go with a highchair for sure.
IDK why but I just don't like the idea of the kid hanging off the table on one of those chairs that attaches to the table (I registered for one for if we go out to eat though). And since a booster seat won't work for your chairs... I'd def go with a highchair.

I don't want the baby on our living room chairs... too messy! haha... so I registered for a mahogany wooden high chair.. it takes up less space than the ones you see more often... and it looked prettier to me.
