Where did everyone buy their gliders and what brand? We are having a really hard time deciding.

Re: Glider
Behr's in Seaford had a decent selection of gliders, as well as Buy Buy Baby.
Babies R Us in Commack had squat, but I don't know about other BRUs.
A glider is my next project. There are a couple at LittleCastleInc.com that I really like. I just need to find some local retailers now.

Re: Glider
They were so expensive it BRU. We actually bought one in Walmart today. It was only $90. It will do the trick.

Re: Glider
There have been a lot of posts on this topic and it was somethingI was debating also when I was pregnant. We ended up getting an upholstered glider made by Best Chairs through BBB. We paid about $350 for just the chair -- didn't get the ottoman -- and I have to admit it was one of the best investments we made in this whole experience.

Re: Glider
We bought The Dream Rocker and Ottoman at Pottery Barn. We didn't care for the looks of a glider... This rocking chair looks like a nice piece of furniture that can be used for many years anywhere in the house.

Re: Glider
We have a Dutlainer, with a custom fabric from BRU. We paid about $700 for both the glider and the ottoman. Totally worth every penny. We have used it nearly every single day since Molly came home. We still use it.

Re: Glider
I think DH and I will buy the glider from the JC Penny catalogue that is $199 and comes with glider, ottoman and all the cushions. The ones at Babies R Us are sooo expensive!!!

Re: Glider
We just ordered a swivel glider and ottoman from BBB. It's by Best Chairs, Storytime collection. It's an upholstered chair and is so comfortable. It was $399 for the chair and $169 for the ottoman.

Re: Glider
We ordered a Dutailier glider from Buy Buy Baby. We bought it to match our furniture so it will be much more than just for the nursery after we are finished with it.

Re: Glider
we were all set on a Dutailier but then found a Shermag at BRU (they didn't have it on display yet, had it in stock though) that fit better and was less expensive.

Quesion for you, did the Shermag that you order have a button you needed to push in order to recline? I only ask because that button is what is making us lean towards a dutailier rather then the shermag.

Re: Glider
TEST a glider before just ordering it because it looks "cute". They all felt soo different and some were smoothier than others. I had Scott and I both try them until we found one we both liked.

either way it's really comfy the without the recline. what sold us in the end was price. $450 for the glider and ottoman (using $40 coupon at BRU) vs. $450+ for just the glider at another store for the dutailier (BRU did not carry the dutailier model i wanted).
people say to skip the ottoman, but i just it!
UPDATE: it does recline

Re: Glider
We bought a dutalier glider and ottoman from Target at the store. They have it on the website, but we didn't want to pay the shipping. The glider was $199.99 and the ottoman was $79.99. It is sooo comfy, I can't wait to use it with the baby. We saved a bunch. The only downside is you can't custom order fabric which I thought would really bother me, but it comes with a perfectly neutral kahki colored fabric that looks fine with everything else in the room.glider and ottoman

We ordered ours online at target.com. I love it! It it just as comfortable as the expensive gliders at BBB & BRU IMHO. Here's the link: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1-10/qid=1142289762/ref=sr_1_10/602-4416909-8465407?%5Fencoding=UTF8&asin=B000BN6UDC

That looks like the one we have Cheryl! It's great, it was a fortune, but great.
