Glucose Test- Question
My doc said I should go either this week or next week. I need to go on a Saturday, so should I go this Saturday (1 day shy of 25 weeks), or next Sunday (1 day shy of 26 weeks). Any difference? I didn't like the doc at all, so I didn't ask him at the time!!
Also, for the 1-hour, do they take your blood when you first get there and then an hour after you have the drink? Or do they just take your blood once, an hour after you drink it? Thanks!

I don't think it makes a difference actually. But if you are going to Quest, they don't do the glucose tests on Saturday.
And they just took my blood once for the one hour.

Actually, I heard that Quest does do the one hour on Saturdays..not the three hour though. I had my one hour done at my docs office and they did not draw blood first. They only did it after I drank that stuff.

I went before I was 25 weeks and it was fine.
They take your blood - then you drink the drink - then they take your blood again.

I called the main info number and they told me they do no glucose tests on Saturdays. It really annoyed me b/c I try not to miss work (but of course will if I have to) for testing and stuff.

I went to Labcorp and it was soooo much easier than Quest. They gave me the drink as soon as I walked in and took my blood an hour later. I always feel when I used to go to Quest I had to wait soooo long just to be called.

Thanks for the info ladies. And I do use Quest, so I just called the local office to double-check, and thankfully they DO do the 1-hour tests on Saturdays, you just have to get there by 10am. Thanks for the heads up, I would have been annoyed if they didn't do it on Saturdays and I went there w/o knowing that!
Guess I'll go this weekend and get it over with!

For my 1 hr I went to quest on a saturday and it was fine..they just dont do the 3 hr on sat

See, that makes me SO mad
I had to miss work to take the one hour, PLUS they made me wait 45 minutes before they even CALLED me. I really do NOT like them.
Then they beat the crap out of my arm during the 3 hour and 2.5 weeks later I still have a bruise.
YUCK to Quest

I agree. My insurance company discontinued their relationship with Quest so I had no choice but to go to either a Labcorp or Sunrise Medical Lab. It was a blessing in disguise. Labcorp was just sooo much easier to deal with, they were nice and friendly and didn't make me wait at all.
