glucose test results - how long does it take?
I went to Quest first thing Tues morning to have mine and have not heard from the dr. Do you think I'm "safe" and they just have not called b/c I passed or is it possible it takes this long to get results? It was the one-hour test.

Re: glucose test results - how long does it take?
I think I will call them this afternoon - I have an appt Monday, but my feeling is that if I failed, they would want me to know immediately so I can go for the dreaded 3-hour version and it's an important thing.
Thanks ladies!!

I did my 1 hour on Tuesday at the doctors office and I asked them how long it takes for the results. They told me 48 - 72 hours. I got a phone call within 24.

Re: glucose test results - how long does it take?
arggghhhhhhhhhhhh
so I called and the girl told me my results just came in, but a dr was not in to call me. The one dr in today got called to the hospital and will not be back. She said a dr did not sign off on it, which means, it was probably not looked at yet and I will find out at my appt Monday night.
I have this feeling I failed.....and am dreading that 3 hour ordeal....but I'm annoyed it took 3 days and now I have to wait all weekend to find out. For a test that is supposively so important, they are sure taking their time!!

Re: glucose test results - how long does it take?
I hear you.... I just took it today. My co-worker (who has to monitor his sugar) said to me 'well, they should be able to tell you your sugar levels on the spot... it only takes 5 seconds'... you know he's right... but I suspect the blood work entails something else in addition becuase they DID take a whole vial......
At any rate, I am really suspicious that I failed (judging on how woozy I felt), and am now in the annoying waiting phase... I bet I won't get results until wed

You might not have - I don't think your reaction to the drink would be an indication. I read somewhere that feeling nauseous from it is normal.
I just called Quest labs and now I'm even more upset because they do not do the 3-hour tests on Saturdays!! So now if I fail, I have to take yet more time off from work....
