I think an allergy test (blood test) can be done.

Yes we actually just had this done, but i was wondering if there were any other sort of signs/symptoms. (haven't received the results yet)

We took Jacen to the GI Specialist last week and she's testing his gluten levels because he is on the small side, but has a big belly. I'm sure there's more to it than that, but that really seemed to stick out at her.

Re: Gluten free mommas

I can write a book on this one. My son was diagnosed last summer with Celiac Disease. Unfortunately at the time he had every symptom - diarhea, constipation, distended belly, weight loss, vomitting, lethargicness, restlessness, mosshiness, clinginess, the list goes on and on. I was semi diagnosed right after (its hereditary and I carry the gene and have only 2 slight symptoms) Hes been gluten free for a year and is doing amazing, amazing, amazing. Please feel free to contact me with any questions I go to gluten free meetings and belong to a lot of organiztions about it. One thing to consider is a lot of GI doctors do nto know a lot about the whole gluten free thing and even have misinformation. I went to a well nkown one who still didnt know that much, I now found the top GI for gluten free in the New York area. FYI Good luck
