wheat allergy...does that mean gluten free?
I was at jury duty while Leo took the message. Josh has a wheat allergy...I don't even know how to combat this.
If it means staying away from glutens that is doable.
thanks!

I belive that means gluten-free. My mom has Celiac disease which is a gluten allergy and she can't have anything with gluten or wheat (bread, pasta, flour, cake, etc.)

I think that being allergic to wheat isn't necessarily celiac disease but very close. My SIL has celiac and follows a gluten free diet. She shops alot at Whole Foods and Trader Joes.

My niece was allergic to wheat, but did not have celiac...she ate gluten free things & thankfully outgrew it by her 3rd birthday.

Re: wheat allergy...does that mean gluten free?
thanks. It wasn't a real surprise since he had the milk/soy protein allergy for so long.
Since the asthma and another mini attack this week, the wheezing is gone, but I demanded an allergy test.
Since I weaned him, this kid is falling apart. Asthma, hives...
so they tested him, he isn't allergic to milk, corn, fish, walnuts, mold, trees.
is allergic to wheat and peanuts.
so from my reading, wheat is probably gluten, which would be the protein in wheat. which makes sense since he could not break down the milk protein till after a year.
