Going on a rafting trip tomorrow...no idea what to wear! Help!
Ok, so I'm not exactly the outdoorsy type. I am going on a rafting trip with my daughter, il's, and some other family members tomorrow in PA. It's about a 2.5 or 3 hour trip on the water. We have to be there around 9am, so it's going to be a little chilly. I get that I need to have some water proof shoes, but what else do I wear? I can't wear jeans, right? If they get wet, that would be a nightmare. I was thinking of wearing my bathing suit under my clothes, but it's what goes over my bathing suit that I am having issues with...it's not exactly going to be balmy out there.
TIA!!!

wet suit is probably the best but I guess you don't have one of those? lol
bathing suit, pair of water shoes, anything that's water resistent over...
I would just layer but wear stuff that is light and preferably stuff that won't weight down much in the water.. and that'll keep your warm.

Re: Going on a rafting trip tomorrow...no idea what to wear! Help!
i went whitewater rafting upstate in early september a few years ago and it was chilly, but the sun was still so warm. i wore running tights (leggings) and a bathing suit with a t-shirt, a hoodie and sneakers.
EVERYTHING went in the wash as soon as i got home, the river water was stanky.
Just be prepared for your entire lower half to be wet, so just wear something relatively thin. I changed as soon as we got off the raft, i couldn't stand being soaked.
It was such a great experience though, I'd do it again in a heartbeat and I'm just as outdoorsy as you.

i would rent a wet suit as soon as you get there. september is chilly. i am not a normally cold person so i wore a bathing suits and a t shirt and shorts underneath. a tankini would probably be the best since it is not easy to go to the bathroom with a bathing suit and wet suit on.

Re: Going on a rafting trip tomorrow...no idea what to wear! Help!
I just went rafting last month in Maine, and it was a pretty warm day, about 80 something degrees. So the people who worked at the rafting place advised us not to get wetsuits since we would end up being too hot. I wore a tankini with a pair of board shorts and cotton tank top, and I rented water shoes. Most places have shoes and wetsuits for rent; the shoes were only $5 I think. You definitely want to wear something that you don't mind getting wet, and that you'll be comfortable in - definitely not jeans! It really all depends on the weather, but be prepared without a wetsuit, and if it's chilly, you can always add that on there.
