Going to the gym today.. with a silly silly question
I am going to the gym today for the first time in this pregnancy... (and probably for the first time since before our wedding lol)Thanks to my sister who is forcing me to go!
I plan on just going really light and basically walking on the treadmill. I know they say if you didn't work out before the baby, not to start a routin.. but I cant see walking being all that bad. I mean is it any different than taking my dog for walks (I do that daily)
What do you think?
Silly question i know, but I still worry about overdoing it.

Walking is completely fine. It's great exercise for us pregnant ladies! As long as you don't walk miles and miles you can't really overdo it. Just take it at a nice comfortable pace.

I did not work out before getting pregnant and started a routine of light weights, walking and yoga. I just always make sure not to over due and take my time. Your body will def tell you if you are doing too much!

Walking is fine! I walk alot at work & with my dog. I was told it makes for easier labor! We'll see!

I asked my dr about walking and they said it's fine- but they highly recommended the stationary bike.

oh ok ill do that too.. the bike really helps with my hip. I have a torn labrum so walking too much often irritates it! Thanks!

walking, stationary bike, elliptical is fine-just don't get yourself out of breath and make sure you really warm up and cool down. If you feel any tightness in your tummy slow down.

I go to the gym every day, and did before I got PG, but I'd definitely recommend taking it easy. In the first trimester, I was walking REEEEEALLY slowly -- like at 2.5 mph -- which I think is a good starting point. Now that I'm feeling better, I'm back up to 3.5 or so.
Just listen to your body as you work out and drink LOTS of water! Have fun!
