Silly Question
Do you paint first or do you deal with the floor covering first (carpet, hardwood, etc).
I can see pros/cons of doing each first, but what's the norm?

Re: Silly Question
I would paint first then fix your floor (carpet or hardwood). Even if you are ripping up the old carpet and putting in new, wait until you are done painting tp rip up the old carpet, but still cover up the carpet, so drag any paint drips to the rest of your house.

Re: Silly Question
we just had a wood floors installed in the den and the painter is coming next week. if you are hiring a professional, it really doesn't matter what you do first. we just thought that there would be too much dust w/ the floors and would be better to have them installed prior to the painting, if you are doing it yourselves, i agrre w/ the others about painting first.
