Golden / Lab owners..
Casey will be 4 in July (already!?). She seems to be calming down....most Goldens and I think labs can be hyper and very active for several years..
Do you think she is too young to be calm? When I get home from work she used to be non-stop till we went to bed. Now she gets up once in a while, but mostly lays in the living room snoozing or looking out the window. I take her for a walk every night after work.
Is my baby becoming a "kid" ?

I am having the same experience.. But I have a maltese and she is only going to be 2 in sept.. but I feel she is so relaxed and calm lately.. No more wanting to play constantly ... i think they just mellow eventually.. some sooner than others!

Reesie is 3 and she really calmed down this year too. I dont know if its age or if she knows she cant be nuts around the kids. As soon as she gets out in the yard, she still runs like a maniac though.

Misty isn't a lab, but she did the same thing last year. Just as she was about to turn 3, she totally mellowed out and became super-calm.

Re: Golden / Lab owners..
Simba is 3 and he has definately calmed down. He still goes crazy when he's excited about something but overall he just likes to go with the flow of things. On his walks he loves to stop and smell the flowers, when a nice breeze comes he just stops and lets the breeze go throguh his fur.
He loves to cuddle and loves to be loved.
He'll always be my puppy

my lab calmed down about 3, he still has his moments andhes 5 now, but for the most part, unless you have a hyper house, I think they learn from you

Re: Golden / Lab owners..
My sister's lab calmed down after 1 year. He was never super high energy to begin with but spends most of his time laying on the floor in whatever room they're in.
He's an english lab though, and they are rumored to be more docile.

My golden is 5 1/2 and still isn't calm!! No she is a really good girl and well behaved, but if I would let her play ball ALL DAY LONG she would be in heaven!!
