Good baby books?
My friend gave me the Happiest Baby on the Block-- what are some other good baby/child care/prep for motherhood books?
Thanks!

Re: Good baby books?
I found "Secrets of the Baby Whisperer" to be helpful...also Dr. Sears' "The Baby Book" for when I had questions about illnesses, feeding, or anything else!

I've really liked Your pregnancy week by week so I bought Your baby's first year week by week by the same authors. Haven't started it yet though!

Re: Good baby books?
I was given a copy of Bright Start by Dr. Richard Woolfson and have really been enjoying it.
It may be out of print because most of the copies I see online are used, but definately worth 2 bucks!

Healthy Sleep Habits Happy Child and Dr. Spock's Baby and Child Care I just bought these two (along with Happiest Baby...) to two friends who just gave birth.

Re: Good baby books?
The happiest Baby on the block is great for when they are newborns - 8 weeks and under.
Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child - start reading that around week 5 - it will help you understand what your child needs at that point and on a go- forward basis.
I could not have survived without either of those books!

I personally like the "What to expect..." series - What to expect when expecting, What to expect the 1st year, What to expect the toddler years....
I read Healthy Sleep Habits Happy Child and even though I have mixed feelings about it, I'm glad I read it.
