Re: Good bag for sightseeing in Europe?
Why don't you get a cheapie one and treat yourself to a nice bag when you get there? Europe has the best bags. The style that you have is a great style (across the chest) for Europe.

Re: Good bag for sightseeing in Europe?
I used a Vera Bradley tote when I was in Florence. For hiking near Rome I used an old bag of mine that I didn't care about.

Re: Good bag for sightseeing in Europe?
anything you can throw over your shoulder and be comfortable walking in is fine ........How big is that one? Will you be able to fit everything you need?

i got this bag for my sister when she went on her honeymoon. idk if she actually used though anything that goes across your body will be perfect. i used the coach swing pack when i went, i thought it was a little too small. Image Attachment(s):

yes I used it! The Vera Bradley version is so much softer and more comfortable than the coach version.
I bought a couple of nice leather shoulder bags while I was in Florence and used one of those too.

Re: Good bag for sightseeing in Europe?
I would use a messenger bag. You can wear "across" the chest/body when you go in bigger cities (pick pockets!!!).

any messenger bag should do the trick - try to find something thats not too big but large enough to accomodate maps, camera, bottle of water etc.

That is a nice sportsac bag. The good thing about sportsac bags is that the bag itself weighs almost nothing...so that is an advantage.

I used that exact one (in a different pattern) for Italy in April and it was perfect! My slim guidebook even fit.
