Re: Good book set in New Orleans
Hey Daniela!! I've read a few but can't recall the titles. I'll do some research, but here is one: Haunted New Orleans: Ghosts and Hauntings of the Crescent City There are LOTS of ghost tours and stories....fun!! I love NOLA!
Haven't read it but Crescent City (Hardcover) by Belva Plain

Re: Good book set in New Orleans
I think Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil is set in Savannah, actually, but I could be wrong.
Anne Rice wrote a series set in NO, the first one was The Mayfair Witches, but I don't remember the others. I loved the book - much more than the Vampire books.

Re: Good book set in New Orleans
Many of Anne Rice's books are set in NO. If you are not into the Vampire Cronicles ( just try one even if you think they aren't for you) try The Witching Hour, which is the first of the 3 Mayfair Witches books.

Re: Good book set in New Orleans
A Confederacy of Dunces, one of my absolute favorite books, is set in NO. It won't really help you plan for a trip there, but it's a fantastic book.

Midnight is set is Savanagh, but both Anne Rice series are very descriptive about the Garden District not really the whole city. If your looking more for places to go and see grab a cup of java and go to Borders or barnes and Noble and sit in the travel section with a note book. I found that helped when we went. HTH
