Good bye Tasti Delite...
Hello pinkberry WOW Just went to the one near my office...loved it! The wait wasn't too bad, I had Green Tea with Mango! It was refreshing.
DH had Coffee w/ Cocoa Krispies and didn't like it..too tangy, like Dannon yogurt.
A little pricier than Tasti but I liked it alot. People were leaving there with giant containers of it.

Re: Good bye Tasti Delite...
I love Tasti.
Is Pinkberry that much better for regular flavors (like Chocolate, Pistachio, Toasted Almond, etc.)
I am not really into the "fruity" flavors.

Re: Good bye Tasti Delite...
I love Tasti too - pinkberry only has 3 flavors.
Green Tea Original (plain yogurty) Coffee
I love Tasti really - but now I like pinkberry too except the price. 2 mediums w/ toppings $10.51

What is Tasti Delite & Pinkberry?
I know that Tasti D-Lite is frozen yogurt. So I'm assuming that Pinkberry is also!

Re: Good bye Tasti Delite...
As much as I Tasti D, I'm nervous about the calorie count. They did a sample of Tasti D's across the city and the calorie count varied by as much as 200 calories. I knew it was too good to be true.

What is Tasti Delite ?
It's actually good for those who have lactose intolerance too, I believe. It is very good. I had a friend who always ate this and turned me on to it. There is one on Main in Huntington.

Re: Good bye Tasti Delite...
I think Tasti is a frozen "dessert" or "confection", not yogurt.
The one here in Great Neck is kosher and it's always packed, esp. on the weekends.
I don't think it has any dairy. I think it's alot of chemicals but the flavors are so good - love burnt sugar. The guy in GN has a schedule and he'll tell me when he has it.
I used to always go to the one on Broadway and 86th St. when I lived in the city. So good.
Pinkberry is actual yogurt. I had read about it Time Out and in the gossip rags.
To me, it tasted exactly like plain regular yogurt just frozen in cool packaging and great toppings. Something about it must be good b/c the line was outside the door.
You order and then move along to the bar and they call your name when you yogurt is ready. Not like the Soup Nazi!

Here is the link. It is dairy but it is not yogurt. And it doesn't say anything about the lactose intolerant like I thought.

Re: Good bye Tasti Delite...
I just read this about Pinkberry...
The stuff that goes into the popular froyo was recently analyzed and the results are a bit scary!
There's 23 ingredients in a Pinkberry. Two of the 'sugars' used, fructose and maltodextrin, another are both laboratory-produced ingredients extracted from corn syrup. Then there's a bunch of stuff that sounds like items you'd find in a scary science lab, including five additives defined by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization as 'emulsifiers' (propylene glycol esters, lactoglycerides, sodium acid pyrophosphate, mono- and diglycerides).
Dr. Gary A. Reineccius, a professor in the department of food science and nutrition at the University of Minnesota said that many of the ingredients Pinkberry uses gives it qualities that nonfat frozen yogurt would not have naturally.
Thanks, Pinkberry for proving that Mom's again always right. If it's too good, it aint true!

Re: Good bye Tasti Delite...
All these lowfat things are full of stuff - fructose and maltodextrin are in most sugar free stuff. It's in most sugar free candies if you read the ingredients - Tums even has it in it.
Sometimes you'll see another fake sweetner in those foods called Maltitol.
I read about it on PerezHilton this morning. The worse side effect is the gas! I don't think it'll stop me for getting it once in a while!
