Good finger foods for a 9 month old?
Jackson doesn't seem to want anything to do with jarred foods. He seems to only want to eat things that he can pick up himself and eat. So I've been giving him the Gerber puffs, and just started giving him Cheerios. But what else can I give him that is soft enough for him to eat but also easy for him to pick up? I tried bananas last night - he loved them, but they're a little too slippery!

I'm sorry...no advice, but this made me laugh out loud and now the lady in the next cube is looking at me

I should've videotaped it! Most of the bananas wound up stuck to his chin or in his lap!

My DD is 9 months too and she is so into food, she screams for it! We've done Cheerios, puffs and bananas like you mentioned, as well as cut up American cheese, Arrowroot cookies, Ritz crackers, Gerber biter biscuits, soft cooked, diced veggies like carrots, and peaches and pears (Gerber diced fruit).

In addition to puffs and cheerios, I also give my DD those dried fruit snacks from Gerber and the cheese crackers from Gerber. Keep in mind she is 11 mos but I have been doing this since last month. I started puffs around 8 or 9 mos.
I break up the crackers into halves (they are pretty small to begin with but I worry).
Doctor also told me to try hard boiled egg yolk broken up at 9 mos. Oh and pastina with a little butter and parm cheese. She loves that!

Polly-O String cheese...I cut it in half and them pull pieces off for him. He loves it.

Thanks! I think I'll also try some overcooked pasta this weekend (like shells or something) and maybe some soft veggies.....

avacados are messy - but DS LOVED them (still does) at that age!
I also did string cheese and bananas - the mess is just part of kids eating.
