I am basically avergae looking so thats how I treat myself but I perfer when pple who ARE goodlooking "pretend" they dont know it, rather then be cocky about it..
but i mean they have mirrors--they must know how hot they r lol..
i m not even sure if there is a question in there

Some people have low self esteem and only see flaws when they look in the mirror. I am sure there are lots of gorgeous people that don't think they are.

They definately know it. Even somewhat good looking people rock their looks to get into clubs, get a free drink, etc. So imagine what exceptionally GL people do and feel.

not always. it's all in the eye of the beholder (especially when looking at oneself) so much more is projected on to your face when you look in the mirror.

True--also, the people who DO know it, is it because they genuinely recognize that about themselves, or do they just realize that other people find them attractive.

LOL...I always say...I must be at least kind of pretty the way people go on about it....but I don't see it....I don't think I am that spectacular looking...some people happen to really like my face though...
I think it's harder to be universally "good looking"..someone that some people find "gorgeous" (ie Brad Pitt) some other don't (I am not a huge fan) and vice versa.
some people like interesting features...some like wholesome pretty...
maybe some people aren't their own taste (I think I fall into this category!)

Like stated above, I guess it is in the eye of the beholder and also how a person feels about themselves. I have always been self-conscious about everything because I was teased a lot when I was young. So anytime anyone gives me a compliment I'm like "go on, get out of here!"
I am basically avergae looking so thats how I treat myself
I think you're beautiful and can I say I love how you look in glasses?!!! Nothing average about it my dear.
but I perfer when pple who ARE goodlooking "pretend" they dont know it, rather then be cocky about it..

You mean like that girl I worked with who kept looking into her compact mirror all day but couldn't take the time to put a tampon in

Re: Good Looking People--they must know it right?
I think good lucks are so subjective...
People fine George Clooney, Giselle Bundchen, Claudia Schiffer or Ben Afflect attractive and sexy but I dont find them attractive. They look average to me.
I think stunning people probably know they are not bad looking, but they won't necessary think they are 'all that' depending on how they are raised or whether they rely more on their looks or brains...
Am only saying this 'cus I am married to a gorgeous hunk of a guy who could be a GQ model if he wanted, but he is also very intelligent and has absolutely no ego about his looks. :D

I think some people just have to know it. Take that hot VS model; with the huge mouth. What's her name? Oh! Adriana Lima. Tell me she doesn't KNOW she is perfection.......

Well, she may just think she has a big mouth! But I guess after hearing it form other people & be hired to model, she must realize that she is what people want to look at.

I loved that my DH didn't have a clue how attractive he was and how all the girls at our college thought he was! I think that was one of the things that drew me to him - he had no "I'm G-d's gift to women" attitude. He was just such a down to earth (but probably one of the NICEST) guys.
I still get chills when I think about the first time he said "Hi" to me.

Re: Good Looking People--they must know it right?
I feel I am just average, of course I have my good days and bad days.
I get nice comments from people on occasion, and I never know how to anwser, since when I look in the mirror, I don't see what they see.
So I guess it all depends on the individual.
Though any VS model has to know they are just beautiful!! Most women would die to look like one of them.

they definitely know cause they have to hear it from 20 people on a daily basis. whether it be girls saying "you look so pretty" or guys constantly hitting on them.

Hmmmmm, There is only one person I can think of right now that I know personally who is beyond pretty and is totally gorgeous. She knows it. I wouldn't say she is a ***** about it, but she knows it.

Re: Good Looking People--they must know it right?
i know people who KNOW they're gorgeous and they totally use it. Free drinks, concert tickets, meals at restaurants, you name it.
Mich, I feel like you- I'm average. I try not to look at myself as below average (although I DEFINITELY have those days) - try to stay positive and think "average".
Although sometimes I feel like if I was ABOVE average, I wouldn't do what the girls I know do. I wouldn't be half-nekkid all the time, wouldn't flirt or flash for free ANYTHING - I think I'd have a harder time defending my BRAIN. Does that make sense?
Even though I'm average, talking your way through things can get you free stuff too!

I think this is the case with a lot of beautiful people.
Most of the time I feel like it's the "ok looking" people who think they're hot sh*t.

But you know really glamorous people are with themselves all of the time and they see themselves at their worst - We go on about how beautiful they are, but take all the make up and styling for granted.

Re: Good Looking People--they must know it right?
I've met some stunning women that were just arm candy for influential people. They stood there looking aloof during parties. Until I got to know some of them I thought they were stuck up. Later after talking to them I realized there was a level of insecurity about saying the wrong thing or appearing stupid. For them they focused on what they were lacking. While they may know they're better than average now, I also think stinging childhood comments about being too tall, etc lasts a long time.
After meeting one of the members of this board, I said "She's so pretty you want to hate her, but so sweet you can't help but adore her." Nothing makes someone more beautiful than a sincere, sweet personality. On the flip side, conceitness just rings ugly to me. (thinking of a jerk from my HS who thought he was all that)
