Re: Good price - Car?
The Altima sounds like a good price. The salesman told us yesterday that most Altimas that he sold recently were going for around $22,000- which comes out in the area for the quote you got.

Re: Good price - Car?
Be careful when leasing a car for more than 36 months. The warranty typically only covers 36 months and 36,000 miles so you are responsible after that. We were going to lease a Nissan Rogue and they refused to give us a 36 month lease for the price we wanted so we walked away. They stated that all their cars are coverd for 36 mos and 36000miles.

Re: Good price - Car?
IMO try not to put any money down on a lease. Because if you put 2,000 drive it off the lot a week later get in a wreck....You are out 2,000. Try to talk the dealers down to the lowest amount possible.

Re: Good price - Car?
Honestly, it's difficult to tell you whether the purchase prices are good deals. What is the actual price you're paying, and what is your interest rate? The monthly payments aren't all that telling.

Good point.
They have an offer right now for 3.9% financing for 60 months. If the purchase price is $22,000 @3.9% for 60 months, the payment comes out to $330.69/month, but that doesn't include taxes.

agreed, you have to negotiate on the selling price, not the monthly price. Also, I would never put down any money on a lease.

Re: Good price - Car?
Thanks - I ended up putting down $1500 + my old Maxima (146K miles, 1996 so only $500) and paid taxes and DMV fees.
Decided to lease b/c we think it makes the most sense for us right now to have lower payments if we decide to try for another next year.
Anyway, got $179/mo - 36 months/12K miles a yr.
