Re: Good restaurants in Newport, Rhode Island?
I actually just got back from there today. I was there for work so I didnt see much at all, but we had dinner at a great place called The Mooring. It was very good. It's such a cute town, I want to try to go back with DH sometime this summer.

Re: Good restaurants in Newport, Rhode Island?
thanks so much for responding...I'm actually trying to get a list together.
Really looking for one very nice place and some other less expensive places that have a nice atmosphere and won't break the bank. Love seafood...any other ideas?

i like 22 bowens alot
also pronto and mamma louisa
le bistro was good but sort of stuffy atmosphere
i enjoyed the newport vineyard tasting (do the tour- they invite you to a provate tasting after which is better than the regular tasting)
for casual food quahog company is good for wings and beers and wraps

Re: Good restaurants in Newport, Rhode Island?
As far as restaurants, we like: Aidan's - it's an Irish Pub. It's really authentic and cute. Red Parrot, The Landing, Black Pearl, and Brick Alley Pub are off of Thames street. Lucia Italian Restaurant, also off of Thames Street was ok. It's a little bit more of a romantic setting inside.
Atlantic Beach Club, a restaurant on the beach, is also fun. In the summer, they have a band and there's a bar outside.
