Good Sam questions
So i'm very confused.. I've been told by a good handful of moms that delivered at Good Sam within the past 6 months that their husbands stayed overnight with them, then at my child birth class this past saturday (which was not worth the money at all) I was told from the instructor that Dad's are not allowed to stay over and have to leave by 11 pm and can come back by 8am. So now i'm wondering, which one is it???? I'd love for him to stay with me and will be disappointed if he can't. The instructor also said some things that I personally have experienced differently already so i'm wondering if the moms were right but she's supposed to be a nurse there so .......

Re: Good Sam questions
I had two children at GSH and dh was not aloud to stay. I shared a rm with another woman and they would kick our husbands out by 11-11:30pm. However I believe they do have private rooms which I've heard are hard to get but maybe being in a private rm it could be diff. (you would have to check on that one)

Re: Good Sam questions
I had DD at Good Sam. My Dh did not stay. I don't believe it was an option.
The only thing for him to sleep in is a chair, and believe me, it is not comfortable. I slept in it twice when DD was hospitalized there (parents can stay w/ a child overnight).
I am having baby #2 at Southside, and I am paying for a private room- and praying that it will be available.
See if yor Doctor goes there, maybe your Dh can stay there in a private room.

I delivered at Good Sam last May and this was the policy that was in effect when I was there, as well. Honestly, it would have been really uncomfortable for him to stay over because the chair in the room was just not the kind you would ever sleep in. And I would not have liked it personally, if my roommated DH had stayed over. It was nice to have a little privacy from guests in the evening.

I believe Southside has 10 private rooms, you should have no problem. We had one, but I told DH to go home & get some sleep.

Re: Good Sam questions
I just delievered at Good Sam in October, and hubbies were not allowed to stay overnight. By 11:30ish the guards were coming around to make sure all guests (including DH) were gone.
Like others said, there is really no place for them to sleep.

Re: Good Sam questions
Thanks for the information... totally not sure why the other moms told me that their DH's stayed with them but it seems like they are not able to. Guess I'll use that time to just sleep and rest. Thanks again

Re: Good Sam questions
I had my DS in Nov at Good Sam. I had a private room and there was still no place for DH to stay even if I wanted him too. I was told that he would have to leave by 11-11:30 but to be honest by 10 I was telling him to go so I could have a few hours sleep before the nurses would come in to take my temp/blood pressure.
