Good Sleeping Babies
So Animal has always been a great sleeper...(knock on DH's head, next best thing to wood)
BUT...I am waiting for the other shoe to drop so to speak...if your baby was a good sleeper was there an age when they stopped or have they always maintained?
Even popping a tooth didn't cause any sleep disruptions...so just wondering

Re: Good Sleeping Babies
My son is nearly 3 years old and he's been sleeping 12 hour nights since he was 3 months old. I can count on one hand the number if nights he's gotten up, if at all.... *knock on wood*
DD is the same. She is nearly 11 months. Is teething molars now and still sleeps really well.
I am very lucky and consider myself blessed.

I'm so envious.

Re: Good Sleeping Babies
Ya know Moe, if I didn't love you and Animal sooo much I would really hate the fact that Animal is the freakin' perfect smiley, sleeping through the night baby !!
NO advice of course, since little grape leaf hates to nap, fights going to sleep every night even when he's exhausted, and now lately has taken to waking up every hour all night as if he were a newborn (oops sorry tangent!) but I do hope that your little Kerri stays a perfect angel and the other shoe never drops
(you DO know that your next bambino is going to be the devil's spawn )

Re: Good Sleeping Babies
Miranda has always been a good sleeper IMO. Yes it took her almost 7 months to sleep through the night but it was only one waking for a feeding so to me no big deal. The only things that really seem to throw her off are getting her teeth and really it's only been the molars that have caused a problem. She's 18 months and still naps and goes to bed with ease 97% of the time. I wouldn't worry. I think some babies are just good sleepers by nature. I don't think Miranda was by nature but we worked with her over time to make her a good sleeper by 6 months or so.

Don't jinx it. If she's good now, she'll always be good.
Like someone else said, watch out for #2. My oldest slept like a champ from 3 weeks in, Peyton, my youngest, still gets up every night. So enjoy the sleeper!!!!!!!!

Re: Good Sleeping Babies
DD was always a good sleeping baby until the last month or so! She was sleeping 6 hour clips at 4 weeks old and was by the time she was 8 weeks she was sleeping 12+ hours and going down for all naps and bed by herself.
I think we jinxed ourselves but saying it outloud too much :) -plus a bit of separation anxiety mixed with teething. I really think she's cutting a molar, with her other teeth, she woke up maybe once or twice for a night or so.
She's starting to get back to her old self, but i still can't get her back in her crib to fall asleep.

Re: Good Sleeping Babies
Well Jake is 20 months now and still no sleep problems .
Even cutting molars didn't keep him up at night.
His naps at daycare can fluctuate in length but on the weekends I still get a solid 2 hrs (sometimes 3!) out of him.
But yes Moe - I believe that we will pay the price for our good sleepers if/when we have #2!
