Gorilla glue...warning!

I have been debating wether or not to post about this, especially since it's so fresh, but we just went throught the worst experience with Gorilla Glue.
I use the stuff occasionally and the other day one of the floorboards in our hallway cracked so I used a little to fix it. Anyway, I left it in the corner of the room where I fixed the floor so that I could go back the next day and check and use more if necessary. Needless to say, I forgot.
Yesterday morning, our dog Misty got the glue and chewed it, swallowing some of the glue in the process. DH noticed there was stuff on her mouth when he got up and called me at work. I didn't know what it was and then he called back ten minutes later telling me she chewed the glue bottle. I panicked immediately cuz I know the stuff swells up after a while and told him so. He called the company and they were EXTREMELY nonchalant about it, saying watch her for 24 hours but almost all the time dogs pass it without a problem. Yeah, except when I googled it...there were ton's of posts about it swelling into balls in dog's stomach's.
Long story short (cuz it's long enough already) we spent the day at the emergency vet's, she had to have emergency surgery last nite and they removed a 1.5 pound ball of glue from her stomach. She is still at the hospital and won't be home until tomorrow at the earliest because they are afraid of complications. It was without a doubt the most devastating day of my life. She is my baby and I really thought we were going to lose her.
The point of this post(besides venting) is to warn all of you about the dangers of Gorilla Glue and to please, please make sure there is no chance of your children or pets getting near it. And, I will never take a manufacturers word about the dangers of their product again...if we had waited the 24 hours and looked for what they told us to look for, she would definitely be gone.
Thanks for listening....

Re: Gorilla glue...warning!

Thank you all so much. I just miss my pup and can't wait to have her home again. And of course, I feel terrible that I left the glue where she could get it.

OMG GErty!!! I'm glad she's ok, but I can't believe the company!!!

I think you should send a letter to them signed by your Vet explaining what happened and the content of your phone call and how it's quite contradictory!!
