Got my blood work results

So much information!!!

So the nurse called me a little while ago and told me that my blood work confirms that I am not O'ing So, I just picked up the metformin (start it tonight ) and the provera to start as well. I will then call the doctor's office on the first day of AF to schedule a CD 3 appointment.

THEN, Dr. Brenner just called to tell me that my glucose results came back and I am IR I kind of knew that was the case, but I am so upset. He told me that a ratio less than 4.5 confirms IR. He said that my fasting glucose is 77 and my resting insulin is 28.6 which is a ratio of 2.69 (Did I get that information correct?). Can someone PLEASE explain this all to me? I was so overwhelmed when he called that I didn't really understand it all. I need to know EXACTLY how IR works (in basic terms) and what my numbers mean.

Sorry to hear Are you sure you and I don't share a body??? Your diagnosis sounds EXACTLY like mine.

Try to be positive about it--that's the best way for me to deal. I tell myself that it's really important for all of these issues to be resolving themselves in order to have a healthy pregnancy. I'm pretty sure that, God forbid I had gotten pregnant any earlier, I wouldn't have been able to carry the pregnancy to term. There are just too many issues that need to be taken care of first.

Take it one day at a time. I just got my confirmation that I will not O this month, either. But I'm starting to realize that this is going to happen when it's ready to happen.

I am so sorry you are disappointed, but now you are on the right track to getting your BFP.
I am not IR, but take met because I have a high testosterone level. I also do not ovulate on my own.
Hang in there, I know its hard.

i am IR as well. Check out this book. Look for foods that are low on the glycemic index. HTH.

Does anyone know what those numbers mean??? I can't really understand them and I have to wait until tomorrow to call...UGH!
