Got my christmas present- Electric Fireplace

I'm so excited I just got my christmas present and am sitting right by it. We have a regular working fireplace in our living room, but I just got one of those little electic ones from my parents for christmas. I wanted the ambiance of the fireplace in our bedroom, PLUS our room is always SOOOO cold so the fact that it doubles as a space heater is great... I'm in love Chat Icon

Ohhhhhh... I want one of those for my BR too!! Can you tell me, does it matter what wall they go on? Does it need to be an outside wall or does it not matter?

I'm not sure. I can check the booklet when I get home...I don't think I saw anything about it needing to be an outside wall though

Re: Got my christmas present- Electric Fireplace

This is what ours looks like (except it's in a darker wood). We bought it from Astor Club in Manhattan. You can put them on any wall in your house. All you need to have is access to an electrical socket for it to plug in. There's no other installation necessary. It's really great, especially for people who rent like we do Chat Icon

Alison - I really like that fireplace! I agree - it's a perfect size for the bedroom. We're actually looking into getting a smaller one for our bedroom. We're addicted to the electric fireplaces now! Chat Icon

Is his TV a plasma Tv? I have seen them above fireplaces.

Thats so funny! Are those really popular? Here in the UK they were really popular in the 1970's and they are now the first thing that people rip out of houses when they redo them!

So everything comes back into vogue huh???

I think these are probably FAR more attractive than anything that could have been in style in the 1970s Chat Icon And they just plug in so no ripping out... next thing they will come out with is one that folds into a storage box the size of a lunchbox.
